In 1972, Caleb Gattegno wrote a paper called: A Prelude to the Science of Education. The paper presented the initial insights into what would later become a more detailed proposal recasting the entire field of education in terms of awareness.  Gattegno went on to write considerably more and in 1987, his magnum opus, The Science of Education Part 1:  Theoretical Considerations was published.
